Electrical Safety

Electricity is essential to modern life, both at home and on the job. Some employees work with electricity directly like electricians, electronic workers, and power line workers. Many of us work around electricity but are not qualified to directly handle electrical components, or in other words, not allowed to be potentially exposed to live electrical parts. The use of electrical systems in the workplace introduces many hazards, which if not properly controlled can have serious consequences. The employer or person having control of a business premises therefore needs to take action to prevent the risk of: electrocution of persons working on an electrical system or using an electrical appliance; electrical fires or explosions which can seriously disrupt the operation of the business.

OBJECTIVE

This course helps employer or employees who works around electricity to understand requirements, hazards associated with electrical appliances, risk assessment, risk controlling in order to prevent any accident to happen.
