In 2012 ISO decided that all Management System (MS) standards shall use a common framework containing:
- Unified High Level Structure (HLS)
- Common Text and Terminology
The unified HLS enables organisations’s to integrate all MS’s easily into one management system.
Integrated Management System (IMS) based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standard requirements have been developed in several companies in Azerbaijan by using the common framework (HLS) in response to pressure on their businesses to implement effective systems to control their Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental (QHSE) aspects, risks and opportunities considering the external and internal issues and requirements of the interested parties and to be able to demonstrate this to third parties.
An integrated management system helps organizations identify, manage, monitor and control their QHSE issues in a holistic manner.
Effective Integrated Management System brings broader business benefits than just customer and legal compliance. Good Integrated Management System should also help organizations to turn threats associated with operational QHSE issues and new developments into business opportunities.
In order to gain management commitment it is essential to conduct an effective cost-benefit analysis.
However, if organizations establish, implement, maintain and continually improve their Integrated Operating Management System (IOMS) in an effective, efficient and reliable manner then benefits of
IOMS will be much higher than the cost spent for establishment, implementation, and maintenance and improvement costs of IOMS.
